Our Freestyle / Lyrical classes cover both dance genres within each term.

Freestyle – is a fun energetic dance style. It takes its roots from coordinating accentuated body movement together with basic steps. Freestyle incorporates jazz technique such as runs, spins, kicks and leaps, mixed with acro and flexibility. Freestyle is continuously being developed, building on the technique, choreography and style. The music can be fast and rhythmic and takes into account modern trends and music.

Lyrical – is a style that blends elements of ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is generally a little more fluid than ballet and also somewhat faster, although not as rapidly executed as jazz dance. It is performed to music with lyrics and concentrates on an individual approach and expressiveness of emotions.
